Placing quality within reach

In the summer of 1994, David Frost bought a 300-acre wine farm at the foot of the Paardeberg mountain range near Paarl. It was the realisation of a lifelong dreams of producing fine wine from his own grapes.

So  in his bid to do something for the golfing community, David Frost has launched the David Frost Signature Series range of wines. Aimed at golfers and those who associate themselves with this game of skill and precision, these wines represent fine quality at affordable prices.

Through the launch of his Signature Series range, David Frost has placed excellent wines within reach of all who recognise the integrity behind the brand.

Classic Red

A classic blend in every sense, this marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Cinsaut has shaped an intensely coloured, concentrated wine with a full, ripe nose balanced by dark berries and hints of spice. Exceptional care was exercised during the blending, to ensure a perfectly balanced, easy drinking wine with soft tannins. Uncomplicated, everyday enjoyment, particularly complementary to curries and stews. Cellaring potential: 4 years.

Chenin Blanc

Low yield, flavour-packed grapes picked at perfect ripeness have been transformed into a full-bodied Chenin Blanc that has benefited from lying on the lees for four months, a practice that has added extra body and elegance. The predominantly guava nose is supported by a fusion of tropical flavours. Excellent value for money. Enjoy it chilled on any occasion. Cellaring potential: 1 year.

Soft Smooth Red

For those who prefer their red wine a little less dry, this easy drinking offering from David Frost combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Cinsaut in a blend that is dark, plummy and delicious. On the nose, hints of spice, blackberry and redberry add extra dimension. The blend¹s easy-going nature is the result of the interaction between the residual sugar and the soft, elegant tannins and ripe fruit. Enjoy every day! Cellaring potential: 4 years.

Shiraz

A seriously senior wine presented at a lightweight price. Selected grapes were crushed in open casks and cold soaked for two days with enzymes to extract as much fruit and colour as possible. Slow maturation in small French and American oak barrels for 12 months has yielded a rich reward: a dark, intensely purple Shiraz that oozes ripe plum and berry flavours, a perky spiciness and a finishing touch of oak. Full bodied, well balanced, ideal with hearty meat dishes. Cellaring potential: 4 years.
